Land mutation would be done automatically within eight days of registration as the Cabinet approved automation to remove all complexities and sufferings of people.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina chaired the regular weekly Cabinet meeting at the secretariat joining virtually from Ganabhaban on Monday.
“AC Land would complete mutation process automatically using software . . . maximum eight days have been given to complete the process,” said Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam while briefing the newsmen.
Mentioning this as a landmark decision, he said, “The online mutation process will reduce the hassle of people, time of mutation and backlog of land-related cases significantly.”
Anwarul said Sub-register will collect all information before completing land registration (Dalil) from AC Land office and at the same time AC Land would come to know about registration through interoperability software and then AC Land will complete the mutation.
“No separate application for mutation will be required,” he said, adding that “AC Land has no scope to keep it aside in this system.”
The cabinet secretary said at present land is registered under law ministry while the mutation of lands is done under land ministry. With the approval of the proposal, now there will be more coordination between the sub-registration offices and AC land offices, he said.
He said AC Land Offices have an online database of some 4.30 crore records of rights (RoR) and sub-registration offices will have access to the database to verify the RoR before completing any registration.
In addition, another project involving Taka 2,000 crore for sub-register offices is underway for archieving the documents, he added.
In the existing system, two documents (Dalil) are prepared but the Cabinet passed decision to prepare three dalils, said the cabinet secretary adding, of the three dalils, one will go to Sub-Register while another to the incumbent and the remaining one to AC Land.
