‘No fuel shortage in country’

The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources has said there is no fuel shortage or crisis in the country, reports BSS.

“There is no reason to be got panicked over fuel,” said a ministry press release issued on the backdrop of dissemination of wrong information over the fuel and energy issue on Wednesday.

At present, about 4,31,835 metric tonnes of diesel has been stored in the country. There is the diesel storage for 32 days. There is storage of Jet-A-1 for 44 days while furnace oil for 32 days. As per the capacity, enough fuel is stored in deports of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation, the release said.

But, the ministry said, a vested quarter is spreading untrue and misleading information over the storage of fuel.
