Covid logs 51 lives , infects 1,871 in 24 hrs
Bangladesh claimed 51 more deaths and infected 1,871 others in 24 hours ending Sunday morning.
The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.
With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 26,931 and infections to 15,30,413 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.
The daily test positivity rate is 7.46 per cent.
Among the deceased, 22 are male and 29 are female patients.
A total of 25,074 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 800 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 92,46,733 samples as of September 12.
In the past 24 hours, 3,586 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 14,78,821.
In case of the divisions, Dhaka logged the highest death toll of 19 and Chattogram logged 14 deaths.
The highest single day deaths 264 from Covid-19 were reported on Tuesday (August 10).
The first Covid-19 cases were reported in Bangladesh on March 8, 2020 while the first death from the virus was reported on March 18.
