Those who cheat through e-commerce will face punishment: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has warned that those who have swindled money through various means including e-commerce will have to face punishment.

The prime minister issued the warning at a news conference after attending the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Monday.

Recently, a media worker wanted to know about this from the Prime Minister at a press conference highlighting various types of fraud in e-commerce.

In reply, Sheikh Hasina said that the deception of some people to make money by taking advantage of the bad times of the people must be punished. We are not sitting, they have been caught immediately. Once caught, where they kept the money, what they did, what assets they made will also be found out.

The Prime Minister said, “We have done everything we can on behalf of the government.” Alas, when such a company is created, your journalists have a responsibility to do so. Above all, you have a dull vision. So you think you have a responsibility.

He urged the journalists to do their duty in this regard, adding that if you can catch at the beginning that these companies are either cheating here or they are cheating. On the other hand, if people are a little careful, then such problems do not happen.

Mentioning that efforts are being made to return the money of the people, Sheikh Hasina said that the money they have taken, where they have kept the money, where it has been smuggled – those matters are also being investigated. Whenever these are available, we will return them.
