There will be no public room in residential hall anymore: DU VC

Dhaka University residential halls are no longer public rooms, said the university’s vice chancellor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman. The DU VC said this after inspecting the opening hall of Dhaka University’s residential hall on Tuesday (October 5).

Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman  visited Bijay Ekattar Hall at 10 am. At the time, he said, university students who have received at least the first dose of vaccine will be able to enter if they show the vaccination card. He also said that the quality of life of the university will be improved.

He added that after the opening of the hall, the decisions on the issue of class-examination and increase-decrease in corona infection will be discussed with everyone later.

Earlier, at a syndicate meeting of Dhaka University on September 18, it was decided that students in the fourth year of graduation and post-graduation would be picked up from 8 am on October 5, subject to having at least one dose of vaccination certificate and valid university identity card.

On Tuesday, the university halls were visited and the authorities were welcoming the fourth year undergraduate and postgraduate students with flowers, chocolates and masks in compliance with the hygiene rules. Students are also following the hygiene rules and entering the hall with proof of valid identity and vaccination card .

Provost of Bijay Ekattar Hall Professor Dr. Abdul Bachir told “We are accepting the ID cards and vaccination cards of the fourth year undergraduate and postgraduate students.” Students are entering the hall in an orderly manner. No untoward incident has taken place anywhere. We are ready to provide any assistance to the students.
