If the government does not listen, the final decision will be on the streets: Rizvi

BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said the final decision would be taken on the streets if the government did not listen to any call for the release of Khaleda Zia and the establishment of democracy.

He said this at a press conference at the BNP central office in Naya Paltan on Friday.

Rizvi said Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader had said a day ago that the present government would not interfere in the next elections. Only if the Election Commission is neutral in the country will a neutral election be possible. To this end, the President will form an election commission with a search committee. There is no room for doubt about a neutral election.

He said that in his speech, Obaidul Quader admitted that the government had interfered in all the past elections under them. The Awami League is the father of vote rigging in Bangladesh. The killer of democracy is Awami League. All the elections held under Awami League have been held in Feni style. The Awami League occupied the center and celebrated the fraudulent vote, the Awami League voted during the day and the Awami League voted without voting.

‘You may remember that when Khandaker Mushtaq lost the election in 1973, he was brought to Dhaka by helicopter and declare to win. The fraud that the Awami League started, its continuity is still flowing today. Now they have been able to send fair elections from Bangladesh to exile. ’

Demanding elections under a caretaker government, the BNP leader said a non-partisan government would be needed to restore fair elections in Bangladesh. A neutral election commission has to be formed by law. In order to restore the confidence of the voters, in order to create an environment for elections, the Awami League government has to be ousted. I want to say clearly: without a non-partisan-neutral government, there will be no national elections in the future, the people will not allow it. In order to establish the rights of the people, we must take to the streets and remove this government and establish the right to vote. The movement is led by BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman. If the government does not listen to the words for the release of Begum Khaleda Zia and the establishment of democracy, then the final decision will be on the streets.

BNP joint secretary general Habib-un Nabi Khan Sohail, joint publicity secretary Asadul Karim Shahin, Matsajibi Dal member secretary Abdur Rahim and Chhatra Dal vice-president Omar Farooq Kawsar were present at the press conference.
