Indian tourist visa for Bangladeshis from Nov 15

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram K Doraiswami said tourist visa for Bangladeshis will be issued from November 15 after a long hiatus due to Covid-19 pandemic.

The Indian envoy told this to reporters around 7:00am on Tuesday (November 9) while he was on his way to India via Akhaura check-post in Brahmanbaria.

Vikram K Doraiswami said, “Initially we will issue a 120-day single entry visa which will allow visitors for a maximum of 30-day stay and travel by air only.”

Akhaura Upazila Nirbahi Officer Romana Akhter and Police station OC Mizanur Rahman welcomed the Indian High Commissioner.

He also assured of easing tourist visas for travel by road and rail by turns.

Akhaura Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Romana Akter and Akhaura police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman welcomed the Indian envoy at the Akhaura land port.

He is expected to return to Dhaka on November 13.
