BNP carrying on legacy of destructive politics: Obaidul Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said the BNP is carrying on the inheritance of the politics of destruction.

“The mask of BNP’s politics with deceptive colours is now exposed. The country’s people have lost trust in the party’s words and deeds,” he told a press conference at his official residence here.

Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said the killing, terrorism and conspiracy are the inherent faults of BNP.

He said the double standard policy of BNP is one of the main impediments to the democratic advancement of the country.

The BNP leaders announced that they would not join elections but they also said there is no objection if the BNP men take part in the polls as independent candidates, the AL general secretary said.

Mentioning that the main task of the BNP is to make any good deed of the government as well as the country controversial, he said they (BNP men) take part in the elections to make those questionable.

Obaidul Quader said the BNP leaders have been talking about movements for the last 12 years but people did not find any movement.
The BNP, not the government, is carrying out deadly programmes as the party is the introducer of deadly programmes like arson-terrorism, he said.

Noting that BNP was the main actor behind the Hefazat’s terror acts over sculpture, Quader said that BNP rehabilitated them by instigating and patronising the country’s communal forces.

Terrorists, the people involved in irregularities and corruption and the patrons of BNP are in panic now, he said, adding that the BNP leaders are shedding tears for offenders.
