Maldivian Vice President arrives in Dhaka

Maldivian Vice President Faisal Naseem today arrived here on a three-day official visit to further bilateral ties and mutual cooperation between the two South Asian nations.

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen received the Maldivian vice president at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) here at 9.15am.

Apart from the bilateral issues, Naseem’s visit will be focused on cooperation in the field of manpower export, health and education, according to foreign ministry’s official source.

During his visit, the vice president is likely to hold meeting with President M Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban.

Naseem is also scheduled to have meeting with number of Bangladesh ministers including, foreign affairs, expatriate welfare and overseas employment, health and family welfare and education.

Faisal Naseem was sworn into office on November 17, 2018 for a five-year term.

Earlier, Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih visited Bangladesh in March and joined Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary celebrations and Bangladesh’s Golden Jubilee of independence.
