Mother Language Day: No more than five people together at the Shaheed Minar at once

 In order to avoid public gatherings in the ongoing coronavirus pandemic situation, like last year, maximum five people at the organization and institution level and maximum two people at the individual level will be able to lay wreaths at the altar of Shaheed Minar together. In this case, everyone must follow proper hygiene rules and wear a mask and maintain social distance.

Besides, the Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University, Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman requested to keep the Corona Vaccine Certificate with all those who came for the purpose of paying homage at the Central Shaheed Minar. Professor Abdul Matin Chowdhury made the request at a news briefing in the virtual classroom on Friday (February 18th).

Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad, Treasurer Prof. Mumtaz Uddin Ahmed, Coordinator of Amar Ekushey Celebration Central Coordinating Committee and President of Dhaka University Teachers Association Prof. Dr. Md. Rahmat Ullah, Joint Coordinator and Vice President of Teachers Association. Prof. Dr. Sabita Rizwana Rahman, Joint-Coordinator and General Secretary of Teachers Association Prof. Dr. Md. Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan and Proctor Prof. Dr. AKM Golam Rabbani was present.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman requested adherence to the rules of hygiene in a fair, peaceful and orderly manner with due dignity and solemnity.
He sought the cooperation of the concerned ministries, city corporations, political parties, organizations, media personnel, law enforcement agencies and the general public for the celebration of Great Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day-2022.

He said that to ensure social distance, the road from Palashi junction to Shaheed Minar would have three consecutive foot marks. Following this sign, everyone will go to the Shaheed Minar in stages and lay wreaths. In this case you have to follow the routemap properly.

The vice-chancellor further said that volunteers at various entrances would conduct campaigns with hand mics to follow hygiene rules and maintain social distance. They will also monitor compliance with hygiene rules. I seek the cooperation of the media in creating public awareness in this regard.
