Seriously ill former President Sahabuddin Ahmed at CCU

Former President and Chief Justice Sahabuddin Ahmed (92) is in critical condition at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.

A close relative of him told the media on Wednesday night (February 23).

He said Justice Sahabuddin Ahmed has been suffering from geriatric illness for the past few years. He was admitted to Dhaka CMH a week ago.

According to doctors, the former president’s condition is critical. He is now admitted to the Critical Care Unit (CCU).

Former Chief Justice Sahabuddin Ahmed was the head of the interim government after the fall of the Ershad government in 1990. After the Awami League came to power in 1996, he was made the President. He retired from the presidency on November 14, 2001.
