Hasan Mahmud inaugurates Russian painter Yechina Sofya’s painting exhibition

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today inaugurated a painting exhibition of Russian painter Yechina Sofya at Gallery Chithrak at Dhanmondi in the capital.

Russian ambassador to Bangladesh Alexander Vikentyevich Mantytskiy addressed the function as special guest with eminent painter Freedom Fighter Abul Barak Alvi in the chair.

Curator of the gallery poet Aminur Rahman conducted it where sixty-two paintings of Sofya named ‘My Blue Stories’ are being exhibited.

In his speech, Hasan recalled the historical contribution of Russia to the great Liberation War of Bangladesh and the deep friendly relations between the two countries.

Awami League joint general secretary said, exchanging of art and culture deepens the relation and the exhibition of Sofya would strengthen the bond of the two countries.

The minister congratulated Sofya’s parents.

Alexander extended thanks to the organiser of the exhibition and the information and broadcasting ministry.

Later, they visited the exhibition.

The exhibition will be continued till October 29 and opened for all between 11am and 8pm.
