Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina launches Mujibpedia

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today 10th July unveiled the cover of the “Mujibpedia”, an encyclopaedia on the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The launching ceremony was held at the Prime Minister’s office in the capital.

According to a press release from Prime Minister’s Press Wing,  Mujibpedia chief editor Kamal Chowdhury, editor Farid Kabir, executive editor Abu Mohammad were present at the event. The City Bank Limited sponsores it, and its Managing Director Masrur Arefin joins the event too.

The Mujibpedia contains authentic information on Bangabandhu’s political and working life. And the chronology of his long struggle with the history of independence of Bangladesh.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina revised and edited the entries related to Bangabandhu’s family that have been included in Mujibpedia.

History and Culture Circle Bangladesh Limited published the book with Agami Prakashani as the distributor.

Some 97 writers, researchers, historians and journalists have contributed to the book. It contains 591 entries and about 750 historical photographs.

National Professor AK Azad Khan, Tofail Ahmad, Sheikh Hafizur Rahman, Ramendu Mazumder, Syed Anwar Hossain, Haroon-ur-Rashid, Muntasir Mamun, Atiur Rahman, Mofidul Haque, Asaduzzaman Noor, Abul Momen among others contributed to the Mujibpedia.
