14-party will take part in next polls as alliance: Amu

Awami League (AL) Advisory Council Member and 14-party alliance spokesperson Amir Hossain Amu said on Tuesday that the 14-party will participate in the next polls unitedly.

“The 14-party will participate in the next elections collectively,” he said after attending the meeting between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the leaders of 14-party held at the premier’s official residence Ganabhaban here.

Unity of the 14-party, he said, will remain intact and the role of the 14 parties to fight the communal forces will also continue.

In response to a query whether there will be an alliance if BNP does not participate in the polls, he said BNP leaders are saying not to take part in the polls.

“But, we will finally decide what to do at the last minute observing their (BNP leaders) activities,” he added.

Regarding the meeting, Amu said that the leaders of 14 parties appreciated the pragmatic activities and dynamic role of the Prime Minister during the Corona.

Speaking on the occasion, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasod) President Hasanul Haq Inu also said several issues have been discussed including the prices of oil, gas and power.

He called for maintaining unity of the 14-party alliance to combat militancy and terror acts.
