Biman operates Dhaka-Toronto direct flight on Independence Day

The Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate a test commercial direct flight for the first time from Dhaka to Toronto on the Independence Day while the national carrier is expecting to commence regular schedule flight on the rout from June.

The first ever test commercial flight on the Dhaka-Toronto route will be operated by Boeing Dreamliner 787-9 that is scheduled to depart from Dhaka at 11:30 pm today and reached Toronto at 7:15 am (local time) on March 27.

“After completing some additional technical works, we are hoping that Biman will be able to operate regular commercial flights three days a week from June,” state minister for civil aviation and tourism Mahbub Ali told Media at a press briefing in a city hotel on Thursday afternoon.

Canadian high commissioner to Bangladesh Lilly Nicholls also spoke at the press conference.

Biman officials said the flight time will be 16 hours when the airline starts operate the regular commercial flight in June with the capsid of carrying around 200 passengers.
