BNP’s negative politics a big barrier towards country’s dev: Hasan Mahmud

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said BNP’s negative politics is a big impediment on the way to the country’s development.

“BNP makes negative publicity in every matter. Had BNP no negative politics, Bangladesh would have made more progress in the last 13 years,” he said.

Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary, was addressing as the chief guest the inaugural ceremony of Narayanganj unit of Astha Feed Industries in Charkamadi area under Sonargaon upazila in the district.

Astha Fee Chairman Mosharraf Hossain Chowdhury chaired the function while Nazrul Islam Babu, MP, Liaqat Hossain Khoka, MP, former lawmaker Abdullah Al Kaiser Hasnat, Premier Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Riazul Karim, FBCCI Vice-President Amin Helali, Amanat Shah Group Chairman Mohammad Helal Miah,

Astha Feed Managing Director Md Gias Uddin Khan, Sonargaon Upazila Parishad Chairman Samsul Islam Bhuiyan, Astha Feed Directors Salauddin, Saiful Islam Babu and Premier Bank Senior Exectuive Manager Abdul Baten were present on the occasion, among others.

The information minister said Bangladesh attained success in fish and vegetable production because of the pro-people policy of Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina.

Bangladesh has surpassed Pakistan in human development, economic, social and health indices and it remains ahead of India in some indexes too, he said.

“But BNP and their cohorts didn’t see the progress,” he added.

Hasan said apart from the government, private industries are playing an important role to the socio-economic development of the country and creating employment opportunities.
