Hasan Mahmud hopes BNP to shun lying during Ramadan
Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today expressed his hope that BNP would stop lying for at least one month during the holy Ramadan.
“BNP’s politics is established on lies. But I hope that the party would shun spreading falsehood for at least one month during the holy Ramadan,” he said.
Speaking about BNP’s hunger strike, he also said he heard that the BNP is staging a hunger strike and the sale of food shops beside their program is going well.
The minister told the newsmen replying to a query after paying rich tributes to the coffin of late eminent elocutionist Hasan Arif in front of the Kendriya (central) Shaheed Minar in the city.
Hasan said the commodities’ prices are on falling trend and the government has distributed one crore family cards.
“BNP’s uneasiness and instability are increasing as people are getting relief. So, they (BNP) are talking nonsense,” he added.
He said Arif, who was general secretary of Sammilita Sangskritik Jote, played an immense role in popularizing the practice of poem recitation.
He (Arif) upheld the spirit of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in his entire life, said Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary.
The minister said Arif will ever be remembered for his outstanding contribution to the cultural arena.
He prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
