‘BCL attacks’ Junaid Saki in Chattogram

Miscreants have allegedly attacked Gana Sanghati Andolan leader Junaid Saki and his aides while they were visiting BM Container depot fire-injured at the Chittagong Medical College (CMC) Hospital. Seven people, including Jonaid Saki, were injured, a party spokesperson said.

The attack took place in front of Chittagong Medical College Hospital on Tuesday afternoon. Leaders of Gana Sanghati have claimed that a group of people carried out the attack with the slogan ‘Joy Bangla’.

Others injured in the attack are Hasan Maruf Rumi, Chittagong coordinator of Gana Sanghati Andolan and Farhad Zaman, member secretary; Shridham Kumar Shil, general secretary, Student Federation, Chittagong; Joint Convener of the People’s Rights Council Rashed Khan and Jasim Uddin and member Kamrun Nahar Dolly. All the injured are being treated at Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

“We went to Sitakunda in the morning. Then I went to see the patients at Chittagong Medical College Hospital. When we get in the car they (unidentified miscreants) carried out the attack. I was in the car. They attacked us with bricks. The leaders and activists were taken out of the. The leaders and activists of our seven political parties were attacked at that time,” ,” Junaid Saki told.

However, Officer in Charge (OC) of Panchlaish Police Station Nazim Uddin told TheReport.live that Junaid Saki had spoken against the government. We told him to go through the main gate. But he did not listen to us and went to the east gate. Then the boys of Chhatra League attacked him. Junaid Saki has sustained several injuries.
