Khaleda Zia’s condition now stable

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, who was administered a stent inside the main artery, is in stable physical condition now.

Quoting doctors, Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP chairperson’s media wing, confirmed the news on Sunday.

He said: “There is no need to worry about her. Her personal physician Zahid Hossain is keeping an eye on her all the time.”

She suffered a mild heart attack on Saturday and doctors said she had 99 percent blockage in her main artery.

Later, doctors successfully removed the blockage by ballooning.

Talking to the press, party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam said Khaleda’s life will be in danger if she is not sent abroad for advanced treatment.

“The government will have to bear all the responsibilities if any unwanted event takes place,” he added.
