Awami League leader Mukul Bose is no more

Mukul Bose, a member of the Bangladesh Awami League’s advisory council and also a freedom fighter, has died. He was 68.

He breathed his last at Apollo Hospital in Chennai, India, around 5:15am on Saturday.

His family, wife, a son and a daughter were with him during the last days.

Awami League office secretary Biplob Barua confirmed the news of Mukul Bose’s death to the media.

“We are saddened to inform that Awami League Advisory Council member Mukul Bose died at the Apollo Hospital in Chennai at 5.20am today (Saturday),” says a press release.

Prime Minister and also Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep shock over the death of Mukul Bose.

According to family sources, Mukul Bose was suffering from a long time with various complications.

He was admitted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of Square Hospital in the capital on June 1. There he was kept on life support.

During the last council of the Awami League, on January 1, 2017, Makul Bose became the member of party’s advisory council.

Earlier, he was the joint General Secretary of Awami League.
