Passengers of a cancelled flight seize the plane

Frustration got the better of a group of passengers on the Wednesday night Ryanair flight from Blagnac to Marrakech.

After a number of hours waiting in an un-air-conditioned room at Blagnac airport, travellers learned that their flight had been cancelled.

This was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

“They flipped out,” a passenger told La Dépêche. Some passengers managed to force themselves on to the plane, then refused to leave the aircraft.

This triggered a police operation on the tarmac. “Police surrounded the plane,” said a witness. No passengers made it into the cockpit.

The police operation ended at 7am on Thursday morning, after negotiations with staff. The plane finally took off at 11am and reached Marrakech.

The fate of the passengers who forced boarding? They too were able to leave for their destination.
