24-hour tank-lorry strike underway in Khulna

The 24-hour strike called by the Khulna Tank-Lorry and Energy Owners Association has begun to press home the demand of increasing transport fare and commission on the sale of fuel oil.

The strike started at 8am Sunday morning resulting in the suspension of the sale of fuel oil in about 14 districts.

He said, our 24-hour transport strike will continue to increase the commission and fare. During this time, extraction and transportation of fuel oil will be stopped.

Besides, it was also announced to stop the supply of fuel oil from various depots in Khulna to 14 districts of the southern region, he said.

Due to the strike, oil transportation has been stopped in 14 districts including Khulna, Bagerhat, Satkhira, Narail, Magura, Jhenaidah, Jessore, Kushtia, Chuadanga, Meherpur, Faridpur, Rajbari, Shariatpur, Madaripur and Gopalganj.
