Simon Stiell of Grenada named new UN climate chief

Grenada’s former environment minister Simon Stiell was appointed on Monday to be the new United
Nations climate chief, replacing Patricia Espinosa, the UN secretary-general’s office said.

The naming of the long-time advocate for the battle for climate action was approved by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
