Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina seeks United Kingdom’s cooperation on railways
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair pays courtesy call on Prime Minister; Praises Bangladesh’s socioeconomic development.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sought British cooperation for the development of Bangladesh’s railway sector. Bangladesh will be happy to see British cooperation for the development of Bangladesh’s railway sector, the prime minister’s press secretary, Ihsanul Karim, quoted her and mentioned on Thursday July 27.
Sheikh Hasina made the calls for cooperation when former British Prime Minister and Institute for Global Change Executive Chairman Tony Blair paid a courtesy call on her at her official residence, Ganabhaban.
Tony Blair praised Bangladesh’s socioeconomic and infrastructure development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. And he said, “Bangladesh is expected to gain further momentum in its overall development in the coming days.”
Sheikh Hasina said her government has a target to transform Bangladesh into a developed country by 2041.
The Prime Minister said Bangladesh government has attached its topmost priority to the development of information and communication technology (ICT). She added, “We are focusing on the development of ICT.”
