During BNP’s sit-ins at Dhaka entry points, 700 people detained: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said more than 700 people have been detained during BNP’s sit-in programmes at the entry points of Dhaka on charges of violence.

He said, those who have no involvement in the violence would be freed from the concerned police stations.

While replying to queries from the journalists at his office at the Secretariat in Dhaka on Sunday, July 30 the Home minister replied.

The minister said, “We have already detained more than 700 people red handed. Also detained those red handed who wanted to set fire.”

He further said, “There are CCTV cameras in everywhere now, and we are analyzing those. People are detaining these miscreants. Though they escape the surveillance of police many times but people catch them and hand over to us. We are also detaining them and let not spare any of them.”
