Justice Obaidul Hassan becomes country’s 24th chief justice of Bangladesh

Justice Obaidul Hassan of the Appellate Division of Supreme Court has been appointed as the new chief justice of Bangladesh.

It was announced through a circular by the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs on Tuesday, 12 September.

The circular stated that President Mohammed Shahabuddin appointed Justice Obaidul Hassan as the 24th chief justice of Bangladesh. The appointment will be effective from the date of taking oath, the circular mentioned it signed by the Secretary of the Law and Justice Division Golam Sarwar on Tuesday, September 12.
