Two years ago, the youth of Bangladesh celebrated the world victory in Pochester. Young tigers has given the best success in the country by winning the Under-19 World Cup trophy by defeating India in the final.
After two years, the World Cup mission of Bangladesh U-19 team stopped in the quarter finals. Bangladesh lost to India by 5 wickets in Antigua Coolidge.

India chased down the target in 30.5 overs for the loss of five wickets. Kaushal Tambe ended the match with a six. But Bangladesh bowlers kept the match exciting and took five wickets for India. India, however, avenged the defeat in the final of the 2020 Under-19 World Cup with this. Rippon Mandal took four wickets for Bangladesh.
India did not start well. In the second over of the innings, Harnoor Singh became the victim of Hasan Saqib without opening the account. The wicket was slow and runs were not easy to score. The ball was coming to a halt. The batsmen were facing many problems. In such a situation, the Bangladeshi bowlers worked to rein in the Indian batsmen. On the other hand, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and vice-captain Sheikh Rashid added 70 runs for India to put India in a strong position.
At a time when it seemed that India had easily caught the match. The game turned once again. Raghuvanshi was dismissed by Bangladesh pacer Ripon Mandal. Raghuvanshi tried to cut a short pitch ball above the point but he could not time the ball properly. Raghuvanshi was dismissed for 44 runs off 65 balls with the help of seven fours. After this Rashid, who held one end, became Mandal’s next victim after scoring 26 runs. He was caught by Faheem behind the wicket.

Siddharth Yadav became the next victim of Mandal after scoring six runs. Iftikhar Hussain took his brilliant catch at extra cover. Hussain caught this while floating in the air. Mandal also became the first Bangladesh bowler to take three wickets in three consecutive matches in the Under-19 World Cup.
Raj Bawa was a bit unlucky. The left-handed batsman was leaving the ball outside the leg-stump but the ball hit the glove and the wicketkeeper took a simple catch.
Earlier, a brilliant opening spell from left-arm pacer Ravi Kumar helped India bowl defending champions Bangladesh for 111 runs in 37.1 overs in the final quarter-final of the ICC Under-19 World Cup here on Saturday. Born in Uttar Pradesh and son of a CRPF jawan, Ravi follows in the footsteps of his state’s senior Mohammed Shami and plays for Bengal. He took three wickets for 14 runs from a maiden in seven overs on a pitch difficult for the batsmen.
Bangladesh had lost seven wickets for 56 runs at one point, after which SM Mehrob (30) and Ashfir Zaman (16) added 50 runs for the eighth wicket to take the team ahead of 100 runs. India won the toss and Ravi took full advantage of the moisture to help the team. In the second over, Ravi bowled Mahfizul Islam (02) on his inswinger. His opening partner Iftakher Hossain (01) tried to make a square cut off the slow ball and was caught on point by Indian vice-captain Sheikh Rashid.
Prantik Navroz (07) was not comfortable at the crease and after touching the bat off Ravi’s outgoing ball, Kaushal Tambe was caught in the slips and reached the pavilion. Bangladesh were three for 14 in the eighth over, after which they lost wickets at frequent intervals.
Left-arm spinner Vicky Ostwal (2/25 in a maiden nine overs) also bowled accurately and it was not easy for the rival batsmen to play. But the credit for stopping Bangladesh till this score goes to Ravi.
