Dr Mostafizur elected ICSD vice-president
Bangladesh has entered into the executive council of International Consortium for Social Development- ICSD as United States-based Noble International University- faculty Dr Mostafizur Rahman elected vice president at the international body.
Australia-based ICSD declared the result on Wednesday evening local time after a long process of digital polls from members across the world.
A total of 121 professionals from multi-disciplines including educators, practitioners, students, schools of social work, non-governmental organizations casted vote on digital platform until October 10 for the executive council of ICSD.
Newly elected ICSD President Prof Dr Manohar Pawar said the multi-disciplinary platform will contribute to social development across the globe fostering research and dialogue and sharing knowledge on social work education.’
Vice-President Mostafizur Rahman, incumbent digital media advisor of ICSD, mentioned the opportunity as a fortune to represent Bangladesh in the in the global forum of ICSD executive council.
There are total of 18 professionals contested for eight executive positions including President, Vice- President and six members at large.
Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) Prof Dr. Roar Sundby led the Election Commission while USA-based social science expert Freddi Wilson and Indian development specialist Dr Paromita Roy is a member in the board.
Regarding the organization, ICSD President Monohor Power said the multi-disciplinary platform will contribute for establishing peace sharing knowledge on social science.
The consortium fosters collaboration among personnel of organizations such as the United Nations, World Bank, UNESCO, and UNICEF as well as among professional associations in the human services and institutions of higher learning.
Professionals across the globe from multi-disciplines including educators, practitioners, schools of social work, non-governmental organizations, social science learners have cast vote on digital platform untill October 10 in the ICSD election.
A total of 18 aspirants contested for eight executive positions including President, Vice- President and six members at large.
