BCB begins talent hunt digitally

Bangladesh Cricket Board leaned towards digital methods to find talented young cricketers during the pandemic.

Authorities concerned also  urged aspiring cricketers to send videos of them playing to the board, from which BCB will conduct the primary screening

On Tuesday, BCB launched a video campaign where stalwarts like Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and the Under-19 World Cup winning captain Akbar Ali appeared and explained the process to take part in the talent hunt.

‘To avoid crowd during this pandemic time, BCB has decided to carry on the primary selection for the talent hunt programme at Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18 levels in districts and Dhaka metropolitan area in a different way, by seeing video,’ Tamim said in the video.

In the video posted on BCB’s Facebook page, the board gave instruction on how batsmen, pacers, spinners and wicket-keepers need to make their videos.

The budding players will have to send the videos to their district or divisional coach through Whatsapp or email. The district and divisional coaches will evaluate the videos and then forward the selected ones to BCB by November 10.
