BFUJ condemns RSF report on press freedom
Leaders of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) condemned a report of Reporters without Borders (RSF), a France-based organization, on press freedom in Bangladesh.
In a statement on Wednesday, the leaders said that a vested quarter is involved in hatching such conspiracy to tarnish the positive image of the media of Bangladesh.
BFUJ president Molla Jalal and secretary general Abdul Majid said the report was misleading, unacceptable and purpose-oriented.
Urging journalists to remain alert about the matter, they said that the RSF report also portrayed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a wrong way.
The BFUJ leaders said the journalist-friendly prime minister is working sincerely for the betterment of media and wellbeing of journalists.
