Biman to bring Captain Nawshad body soon
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has been put all efforts to bring the body of Captain Nawshad Ataul Qayyum, who passed away today fighting for life since Friday at Kingsway Hospitals in the Indian state of Maharashtra, here soon.
“All efforts of Biman have been continued to bring back the deceased captain here soon,” said a press release of the national flag carrier here this evening.
Biman will offer special prayers seeking enteral peace of the departed soul at its all mosques and prayer rooms after Zuhr prayers tomorrow, it added.
All levels of employees of the state-owned airlines including its managing director and CEO Dr Abu Saleh Mostofa Kamal expressed their deep shock at the death of Captain Qayyum, and conveyed their profound sympathy to members of the bereaved family.
In separate condolence messages, Civil Aviation and Tourism State Minister M Mahbub Ali and Secretary Md Mokammel Hossain also expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Captain Qayyum.
Captain Qayyum was in “coma” and under ventilation support at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital during the last four days as he suffered a “massive cardiac arrest” in mid-air at a Dhaka-bound Bangladesh Biman Airlines flight (BG-022) from Muscat on Friday.
On Friday, Captain Qayyum made an emergency landing safely with 124 passengers on board in Nagpur airport in India, after he felt sick in mid-air.
