The court advised Nagar Baul James to go to the police station

Nagar Baul James has gone to the lower court of Dhaka to file a case for protection of his songs alleging violation of copyright law.

It is learned that he came to the court to lodge a lawsuit against a mobile operator company, however, he went back without filing a case as per the court advice.

James’ lawyer Tapash Kumar filed the case in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Imrul Kayes around 11am on Sunday.At that time, the judge advised him to go to the police station (Gulshan police station) and file a lawsuit. He left the court premises at around 1 pm on the advice of the judge.

About this, Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court Tapash Kumar Paul said James came to court to file a case against “Banglalink” under “the Copyright Act”.

The judge advised filing the lawsuit with the Gulshan police station. If the police station does not take the case, the judge told him to come to the court later and filed the case, Tapash Kumar Paul also said.

Tapos Kumar, a lawyer for Nagar Baul James, said James came to court to file a case against Banglalink under the Copyright Act, he later returned without “filing a case” on the advice of the judge.
