Commerce Minister cheated by ordering cow online

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said he was deceived by ordering cows through online. He said that two years ago, before Eid-ul-Azha, when an e-commerce company was inaugurated, he ordered cow for sacrifice with one lakh Taka online. But I didn’t get the cow he showed me. I was given another cow. I was deceived.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a workshop titled “Role of Economic Reporters Forum (ERF) in creating a fair competitive environment in the market through implementation of competition laws” at the conference room of the Bangladesh Competition Commission on Sunday (September 26th).

Chairperson of Bangladesh Competition Commission Mofizul Islam presided over the workshop. Commission members Manzur Quader, Nasrin Begum and GM Saleh Uddin, ERF President Sharvin Rinvi, General Secretary SM Rashedul Islam and others spoke on the occasion.

“Even after showing me the picture, I was not given the designated cow,” he said. When contacted later, it was said that I would be given another cow, which cost 87,000 Taka. He told me that I would be given a goat instead of the remaining 13 thousand Taka. I was forced to agree. Because, I paid in advance. That’s why there was no way out without that cow. ‘

He also expressed satisfaction that such a situation no longer exists.

Mofizul Islam, chairperson of the Bangladesh Competition Commission, said at the workshop, “I have filed a case against Evaly in November 2020.” The case is pending in the court. The verdict will be announced soon. ‘He also said that the’ Dhamaka Eid offer ‘of Evaly has been canceled.
