BERC adjusts LPG price upward

Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) re-fixed the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) at Taka 1,391 including value added tax (VAT) for a 12-kg cylinder at retail level instead of Tk 1,240.

“The new price of LPG will be effective from 6pm today (March 3) and all LPG marketing companies will follow this price,” BERC said in a statement.

The BERC also re-fixed auto gas price at Taka 64.78 per liter and per kilogram of LPG at Taka 115.88 including VAT in private sector and Tk. 112.65 per kilogram of LPG supplied in reticulated system by private sector.

According to the BERC, new price at retail level in private sector, the prices of 12.5 kg LPG have been fixed at Taka 1,449, 15 kg at Taka 1,738, 16 kg at Taka 1,854, 18 kg at Taka 2,086, 20 kg at Taka 2,318, 22 kg at Taka 2,549, 25 kg at Taka 2,897, 30 kg at Taka 3,476, 33 kg at Taka 3,824, 35 kg at Taka 4,055 and 45 kg at Taka 5,215.

BERC adjusts country’s LPG prices taking Saudi Aramco’s cargo price (CP) as the base price. Recently, Aramco has adjusted the CP price upwardly.
