BNP is bewildered as it is isolated from people: Mahbubul AlamHanif

Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif today said BNP leaders are making inconsistent remarks at dawn and dusk as they have been bewildered due to their isolation from the
people.

“As opposition party, BNP repeatedly attacked people through carrying out destructive activities which made them isolated from them (people) . . . therefore, its leaders are now making unacceptable comments at dawn and dusk,” he said.

Hanif made the remarks while addressing a special extended meeting of Brahmanbaria district AL as the chief guest at the Alauddin Sangeetangan here.

Noting that BNP wants to make the country’s people confused by spreading falsehoods, the AL leader said their (BNP leaders) only target is to hinder the country’s development spree.

The government is, however, aware of the activities being carried out by BNP to destabilize the country, he said, adding that law enforcement agencies are enough to spoil any evil activity.

The AL joint general secretary urged the party leaders and activists to remain alert so that people does not get misguided by BNP’s falsehoods.

The AL leaders and activists should convince the people that the country is moving forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and there is no alternative to her for continuing this trend.

Speaking about the newly formed Election Commission (EC), Hanif said it has been formed through a democratic process.

But BNP has created a new issue regarding the EC, he said, adding nevertheless, when they were in power, “their Prime Minister” gave a list based on which the then President issued a gazette regarding EC formation and it is the practice of BNP for their EC reconstitution formation.

Brahmanbaria district AL President RAM Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury, MP, chaired the extended meeting while central AL Organizing Secretary Abu Saeed Al Mahmud Swapan, MP, and Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi addressed the meeting as special guests.

Besides, BM Farhad Hossain, MP, Mohammad Ebadul Karim Bulbul, MP, and Umme Fatema Nazma Begum, MP, were present at the meeting as invited guests while district AL General Secretary Al Mamun Sarker conducted it.
