Bangladesh is a member of UN, not an employee: Planning Minister

Bangladesh is a member of the United Nations, not an employee. We will calculate whether to vote or not in the interest of the country. Basically, we did not vote out of concern for the country. We are not alone, many more states have abstained.

He made the remarks after inaugurating an internal road development project worth Tk 9.99 crore at Mina Bazar in Shantiganj upazila of Sunamganj on Saturday (March 5) morning.

He added that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina does not like war. We have appealed to Russia-Ukraine, you go to a peaceful position and come to an agreement, Bangladesh will help as much as it can.

Addressing the BNP, the minister said, “Who is to say goodbye to the BNP?” Farewell hour is in the hands of the people of Bangladesh. If the farewell bell of Awami League rings, then we will take leave.

We have come to power by the people’s vote, if the people do not vote we will leave power. So the Awami League cannot be intimidated by threats. The Awami League is not afraid of threats.
