DU residential Hall is opening today for all students

At least the first dose of Covid-19 must be vaccinated

The residential hall is opening for all students of Dhaka University today. Earlier, only undergraduate and postgraduate students were allowed to enter the hall. Students who have been vaccinated with at least the first dose of ‘Covid-19’ will be able to enter the hall from 8 am today by showing their valid identity card. Meanwhile, after the last year of graduation and post-graduation students, this time the administration has completed all the preparations to accept the students of honors 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year.

When coronavirus infection started in the country, physical class activities and residential halls at Dhaka University along with other educational institutions were declared closed in March 2020. After that, the Academic Council decided to open the university hall from March 13 this year for the examination of undergraduate and postgraduate students. However, that decision was later reversed due to an increase of corona infection. The residential hall is open for undergraduate and postgraduate students from October 5.

Teachers and students are overwhelmed by the opening of residential halls for all students. Shahida Akhter, a resident student of Shamsunnahar Hall, told that the news of opening the campus for all after a long time is really very happy. We will meet friends again, we will take classes in that classroom, we will go back again if we are residential – it feels good to think about all this. But being at home for a long time, I will also remember the moments spent with my parents and siblings.

Ismat Ara Chaiti, a residential student of Rokeya Hall, said he was happy to open the hall after so long. At the same time, the loss of almost two years of education for me and all of us, so I will give the results of the rest of the semester as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, to ensure the health protection of the students in the post-Corona period, the university authorities undertook a massive reform program to improve the living standards of the residential halls. These include the renovation of wash rooms, water lines, power lines and dilapidated walls, and repainting. The administration of the university hall has already completed these renovations.

About the preparation of the residential hall, Provost of Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah Hall Dr. Jabed Hossain told , “We have done all the renovation work of the hall as much as we can.” On October 5, other students will be accepted in the same way as we have accepted the final year of graduation and postgraduate students.
