2 people identified over sexually assaulting CU student: Police

Police claimed to have identified two people over the alleged sexual assault to a female student in Chattogram University. However, police said, there identity could not be make public at this moment for the sake of investigation.

Confirming the matter Officer in Charge (OC) Ruhul Amin of Hathajari police station said, “Five people were involved in the incident. Their speeches and outfits indicate all of them to be the university student.”

“Two people could be identified in various ways. However, their identity could not be make public at this moment for the sake of investigation.”

The victim filed a sexual assault case on Wednesday. Under section 10 of the women and children repression act, five anonymous were sued in the case.

The student allegedly came under sexual assault and physical misconduct earlier on Sunday. The accused undressed and tied her and picked naked photos at the botanical garden area of the university. Her friend was also beaten.

The incident erupted anger among other students. They took position in front of the vice-chancellor’s residence since Wednesday night seeking justice.
