Biswajit murder case: Fugitive convict held in city

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a fugitive convict who had been on the run since his conviction in Biswajit Das murder case in 2012 on Monday, reports UNB.

Mosharraf Hossain alias Abdullah, 34, of Kishoreganj, was the arrestee. In this case, he was sentenced to life in jailAccording to Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md Fazlul Haque, senior assistant director (Media) of RAB-2, Abdullah was detained on Sunday night by a team from Rab-2. Abdullah was driving in the city’s Gulshan area.

As part of the BNP-led alliance’s nationwide road blockade movement, several BCL activists executed tailor Biswajit on December 9, 2012, in Old Dhaka.

Eight BCL activists were given death sentences on December 18, 2013, while 13 others, including Abdullah, were given life sentences in the murder case.
