DGFI officer killed in clash with drug traffickers at Tambru border: ISPR

A Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) officer was killed and a Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel was injured during a clash with drug traffickers at Tambru border in Bandarban district.

A DGFI officer embraced martyrdom and a RAB man was injured in bullets fired by the narcoses during the clash in the area inside Bangladesh on Monday said an Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) release today.

It said the clash took place with the drug smugglers as the RAB and DGFI were conducting an anti-drug joint drive there.

During the clash, the on-duty DGFI officer was killed and the RAB man was injured as the narcoses opened fire, it added.

The release also said the slain DGFI officer was from Bangladesh Air Force.
