Rohingya’ gets uncut censorship clearance

The film ‘Rohingya’ directed by Syed Ahiduzzaman Diamond has obtained permission to be released in cinemas across the country.

Censorship clearance was granted for showing the uncut film on Tuesday (November 2).The director himself confirmed this.

Production of the film “Rohingya” began in 2006. After completing all the work this year, the producer submitted the film to the Bangladesh Film Censor Board.

In this context, Syed Ahiduzzaman Diamond said: “Like many things, we were counting the days for the release of ̵Rohingya’.

Finally  I have the clearance in hand. I will publish it very soon for viewers.  I am grateful to the esteemed jury and the Ministry of Information. .

The story of the film is about the inhumane life of the Rohingya who fled to Bangladesh from Myanmar. The shooting took place at Ukhia Camp in Cox’s Bazar. In it, the Naf River, Shahpari Island, Teknaf and other places were highlighted.

Actress Arshi Hossain plays the role of the Rohingya woman in the film. There are also Omar Ayaz Oni, Suchi, Sagar, Brishti, Tanjid, Hayatuzzaman, Golam Rabbani, Mintu, Shreya, Tauhid, Inam Ahmed and many others.

Syed Ahiduzzaman Diamond won the National Film Award for ‘Gangayatra’ made in 2009. The last time he directed “Shesh Kotha” was in 2016.
