Prime accused of Oct 28 police constable murder case Apon Ahmed arrested

The prime accused of police constable Amirul Islam Pervez murder case has been arrested from Golachipa in Patuakhali district.

He was taken to Dhaka after arresting from Kalagachia union bazar area under Golachipa upazila after Thursday night. Sources concerned said constable Amirul islam Parvez murder case’s prime accused Apon Ahmed was identified from CCTV footage. Dhaka district police filed a case against him for creating anarchy, sabotage and committing murder.

The 32-year-old constable Amirul Islam Pervez was killed during BNP’s grand rally at Naya Paltan in Dhaka on October 28. Apon is the son of Md Deen Islam of Shantinagar Brahmankirta area under Keraniganj Police Station in Dhaka.

In order to avoid arrest, he took refuge at Kolagachia union under Golachipa upazila. He was arrested during his involvement in extramarital affair with a woman of that area, police said.

Golachipa Police Station’s officer-in-charge (OC) Shanti Kumar Gayen said a joint team of Dhaka and Golachipa Police arrested the prime accused of police murder case Apon Ahmed conducted raid at Kalagachia under the upazila. He was later handed over to the Dhaka police. Earlier, two persons were arrested in connection with the incident.
