Bgmea seeks coop from industrial police
Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (Bgmea) has sought cooperation from industrial police to ensure safety for the factories’ workers during the lockdown and upcoming Eid holidays.
BGMEA President Faruque Hassan also appreciated the law enforcers’ roles in smooth factory operations while Industrial Police Additional Inspector General Shafiqul Islam made a courtesy visit to BGMEA head office in Uttara on Wednesday.
Faruque Hassan expressed thanks to the industrial police for assuring security and peaceful atmosphere in the garment sector.
The industrial police has been playing a great role in maintaining harmonious industrial relationship between owners and workers of garment factories, he added.
BGMEA chief further requested the industrial police to extend zonal services in Uttarkhan, Dakshinkhan, Mirpur, Malibagh, Rampura and Badda to cover the factories in these areas.
Shafiqul Islam said that the department has been working round the clock to maintain peace and tranquility and ensure security of the industrial areas.
BGMEA Senior Vice President SM Mannan (Kochi), Vice President Shahidullah Azim, Vice Presidents Khandoker Rafiqul Islam and Nasir Uddin, directors, among other, were present on the occasion.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Mahbubur Rahman, Additional DIG AKM Awlad Hossain and superintendent of police Shoaib Ahmed were present from Industrial Police department.
