ICT Division to support cyber victim
The government will setup ‘cyber security help desk’ at ICT Division to provide technical and legal support to victim of Facebook hacking or bulling on internet.
Addressing a meeting virtually, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak also urged the students to avoid unknown person on Facebook as 70 percent of victims of cyber crime in the country are girls.
Palak connected to a webinar on girls’ awareness on cyber security organised by Singra Damdama Pilot High School and College (SDPHSC) in Natore.
Recently USA-based social media giant Facebook employed a Bangla-speaking Bangladeshi to administer Bangladeshi content and swiftly resolve any related issues which may occur on the social media utility.
“As most of the cyber crime victims are girls, we should verify the identity of any online account before connecting them or sharing something online. Otherwise, the criminals are exploring round-the-clock online to abuse people,” Palak added.
State Minister also urged the teachers and guardians of the students to inspire students in digital literacy to face off challenges of fourth industrial revolution.
ICT Division Senior Secretary Zeaul Alam, CCA controller Abu Sayeed Chowdhury, SDPHSC Principal Anwarul Islam Anu connectto the session while CCA Deputy Controller Hasina Begum presented keynote.
