Shakib top among ODI all-rounder
Bangladesh athlete Shakib Al Hasan returned to the top of ICC all rounder’s ranking for one-day international in less than a week after his suspension from cricket ended.
The International Cricket Council confirmed his ranking in a press release issued on Wednesday. The rankings were published after the completion of Pakistan-Zimbabwe ODI series.
The all-rounder from Bangladesh served sanction from October 29, 2019 to October 28, 2020 for his failure to report multiple approaches by an Indian bookie.
ICC dropped Shakib from the rankings after his suspension began. Shakib’s rating points dropped to 373 from 394 during his suspension period. But, in a year largely marred by COVID-19 pandemic, no other player did well enough to overtake him.
Afghan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi slipped to second position with 301 rating points after Shakib’s re-inclusion in the rankings. English all-rounders, Chris Woakes and Ben Stokes remained in the third and fourth position respectively with 281 and 276 points.
