COP-26 President-designate Alok Sharma said UK is ready to support Dhaka in its transaction to clean energy.
He also called on rich countries to fulfil their pledge of forming annual 100 billion US dollar climate fund to support vulnerable countries like Bangladesh.
“I have urged the rich countries to fulfil their pledges to create the 100 billion US dollar annual climate fund,” he said in a joint press briefing with foreign minister Dr AK Abdul Momen at foreign service academy on Wednesday.
The COP president also urged all countries to fulfill their commitments to limit global temperature rise to 1.5 degree.
Before the briefing, Sharma held a meeting with the Bangladesh foreign minister and attend a UK- Bangladesh Climate Partnership Roundtable.
