Fan invades ground to touch Mustafizur’s feet
Invading pitch during the International game is nothing new in the World .
However, at the time in the COVID period, fans entering the field is “terrifying” as every cricketer has to go under bio-bubble security before any series. Now, Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur witnessed such an incident.
Bangladesh and Pakistan were faced off in the 2nd T20 of the three-match series. The incident of entering a fan in the ground took place in the 13th over of Pakistan’s batting innings. During the break, when the players are returning to their positions, a cricket fan entered the field.
The security forces tried their best but could not stop the crazy fan. He ran straight to the feet of Mustafizur Rahman. However, after a while, the security personnel caught him and took him away.
At the time of the COVID period, the teams are bound by a strict bio-bubble. Meanwhile, the fan’s entry to the field raised questions about the security arrangements by the BCB. Now, it remains to be seen what action the BCB will take.
Earlier, in 2019, a fan named Fasial Ahmed invaded the pitch of Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram to salute Shakib Al Hasan and gave him a rose.
In 2018, a similar incident happened in Sylhet while young Anik came to the spotlight by entering the field and it was followed by a similar incident after two days when another young man entered the field to hug Mushifiqur
Rahim.
The same thing happened with Mashrafe Bin Mortaza in an ODI in 2016 when a pitch intruder named Mehedi Hasan entered the field unexpectedly to hug the ODI skipper. Mehedi was taken to the custody but Mashrafe defended his fan later.
