The female elephant gave birth to the calves at Bandipur Tiger Reserve in Karnataka earlier this week, NDTV reported, citing local forest department officials.
The officials reported that the pregnant elephant was in labour and struggling to deliver. She then moved to a nearby pond. When she came out, she brought two calves with her.
Luckily, the tourists were able to capture these moments on their phones.
According to the Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad, it is a one-in-a-million chance for elephants to deliver twins.
