Shah Rukh Khan’s trainer reveals how actor worked to get chiselled body with abs for ‘Pathaan’: ‘Despite injuries, he…’

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan sent his fans into a frenzy after he dropped his first official look from ‘Pathaan’ in March 2022. He flaunted his rugged and rough look from the film. In the photo, he can be seen flaunting his chiselled body and six-pack abs, with his long, dishelved hair tied in a bun.

Fans had flooded social media with praises for the actor’s fitness and transformation.

In an interview with Indian Express, Shah Rukh’s physical trainer Prashant Sawant revealed how the actor built those abs for Pathaan.

Prashant, who has been working with SRK for 24 years, said that they have been working specifically for this film for the last four years. Though the pandemic hampered the pace and progress, the trainer said that Shah Rukh has been consistent.

“Shah Rukh started doing a lot of lifting heavy. Previously, we used to do a lot of circuit training and cardio workouts, but now we have incorporated more strength training — which helped him look better and bigger. It took us two years to build the toned physique you see on screen,” he informed the news portal.

Talking about the actor’s diet, Prashant shared that Shah Rukh’s calorie-intake was increased with more emphasis on protein including lean mean, egg whites and lentils. He said everything in his diet was planned and measured — from carbs, to fat, and protein.

“Despite injuries serving as a setback, he came back stronger by pulling off deadlifts, pull-ups, and working on his core, and legs. His discipline is commendable,” he recalled.

Meanwhile, ‘Pathaan’ is set to be an action-packed film and will mark Shah Rukh’s return to the silver screens after a hiatus of five years. His last film, ‘Zero’, which starred Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif, had released in the year 2018.

‘Pathaan’ also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in key roles, and is all set to hit the theatres on January 25, 2023.
