National flag to remain half-mast on National Mourning Day
The national flag will be kept at half-mast at all government, semi-government, autonomous organizations, educational institutions, non-government Bhaban and Bangladesh Missions abroad to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 15.
At first, the national flag will be hoisted atop with the sunrise and then the flag will be kept on the position of its width bringing it down, a press release said here today.
At the end of the day, the flag will be brought down and it would be hoisted again atop and then it would be brought to the downward slowly, the release added.
According to the Bangladesh Flag Rule, 1972, the ‘National Flag’ will be bottle green and rectangular in size in the proportion of length to width 10:6 bearing a red circle on the body of the green. The red circle will have a radius of one-fifth of the length of the flag, it added.
Depending on the size of the buildings, the flag sizes will be at the ratio of 10:6, 5:3 and 2.5:1.5.
